SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY 


A limited number of scholarships are available to individuals in financial need who are:

  • Lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, or another sexual minority
  • Transgender and gender non-conforming 
  • Women
  • Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC)
  • Living with a disability or disabilities
  • Low-income or from a disadvantaged background
  • Residing or working in rural areas
  • Community-based organization (CBO) staff
  • Graduate students or post-doctoral fellows (must show valid school photo ID at conference registration)
  • Community activists

 

TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS

Registration Scholarships cover the cost of registration (includes lunch each day). Travel, other meals, and lodging are not covered by this scholarship. 


Lodging Scholarships assist those who live more than 50 miles from Chicago with lodging costs* at the conference venue. [*The amount of funding to offset lodging costs is yet to be determined.]

 

Individuals who meet the eligibility criteria outlined above can apply for one or both scholarships. Individuals who wish to apply for a registration and/or lodging scholarship to attend in person must live in the United States.

 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants are required to complete the application form and submit three (3) additional items: 

  1. Current resume or CV
  2. Letter of recommendation from a supervisor, academic reference, or personal reference 
  3. Response to the following question (250 words or less
    • How will attending this conference impact my future career goals?

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD NOTIFICATION

Scholarship Awardees will be notified by April 11, 2022.
